OKLAHOMA AND KANSAS WHITETAIL DEER HUNTING

Our deer hunting takes place in two of the most sought after areas for trophy bucks in our region, South Central Kansas and North Western Oklahoma. We offer a very limited number of deer hunts each year on these well managed properties. Trophy quality bucks are numerous and hunters should expect to see many bucks to choose from. Please read the following descriptions for the two hunting areas, as there are some differences in how we run each hunt.
Oklahoma
The hunting in Northwestern Oklahoma is gaining a reputation for one of the best values in trophy

whitetail deer hunting in the nation. Large tracts of private land have been an untapped resource on some farms for generations. We hunt some of the most productive river bottom habitat in the state, near Cherokee, Oklahoma. We offer Bow, Black powder and Rifle hunts for resident and nonresident hunters. We added an 800 acre bow hunting only property in the 2005 season. This well managed farm is just 2 miles south of the famous Kansas Unit 16 and is part of the same river system that produced a 206" monster whitetail buck in 2004. You DO NOT have to put in for a draw to obtain a license for these hunts. Tags are available over the counter in just about any sporting goods store throughout the state. The spring reveals at least 3 bucks which dropped sheds that will score into the 160's. There are some true bruiser bucks on this property. The most prevalent characteristic in this herd is heavy main beams with a tendency toward massive bases. Taking a 150 class buck on this property is a real possibility for those hunters who pass on smaller bucks and match wits against the mature deer.

Hunting is done from strategically located ladder and tripod stands in and along the river bottoms and grain fields. Corn/protein feeders supplement the available browse. All hunts are for 5 days, lodging is included in the fee.  A guide will make sure you are in the right spots each day and assist you in the hunt. Bow hunts are semi-guided, black powder and rifle hunts are fully guided.

Kansas
Our Kansas hunts are conducted in Barber County, Unit 16, near Kiowa. We hunt a 2,000 acre ranch with nearly 3 full miles of the Medicine River running through the property. The terrain is typical of big whitetail country, with plum thickets and mature cottonwood trees lining draws and bottomlands throughout the ranch. But what makes the ranch so unique is that we also have 300 acres of cropland which borders both ends of the river bottom. These bean, milo and wheat fields keep deer on the ranch, as well as draw others away from prime bedding cover in the area. Hunting pressure is very low here, as we only allow a limited number of muzzleloader and archery hunts per season.

This allows us to have a very high success rate on 140-160-class bucks, with Boone and Crockett monsters also harvested in the recent past. It is a perfect mix of bedding cover, genetics and a year-round food source which makes our ranch a prime location for big Midwest whitetails.

We will be hunting from treestands and also doing some spot and stalk hunting. It's sure to be a hunt to remember. Bow hunts are semi-guided, black powder are fully guided.
