OKLAHOMA DUCK HUNTING

   Our fully guided duck hunts are some of the best you'll find anywhere in the U.S. We have river hunts which make folks in Arkansas cringe at the sight of how many mallards we can put in your face! December and January are our prime times for great greenhead action on the river. On average, over 95% of the ducks we take each year are mallards and banded birds are commonplace at Ducks N Bucks. Stretches of the river are narrow, giving it that flooded timber feel, or we can sit back and enjoy a hunt from a large sandbar, with groups of 200-300 birds working overhead all morning on a typical hunt.

   We also offer a marsh hunt over a big spread of duck decoys. You and your group will hide in a cattail blind and watch thousands of puddle ducks swarm in all directions. The marsh is located just down the road from the Great Salt Plains Refuge where up to 100,000 ducks and geese roost during the winter months. Bonus geese and sandhill cranes are also common on our marsh hunts. (You will need a permit for the cranes.)

   Duck hunts include meals and lodging, well trained retrievers and again, are fully guided. If you would like to bring your own dog, we ask that you limit yourself to one dog for each four hunters in your group. Just ask at the time of booking and we will be happy to make arrangements necessary to compliment you and your favorite hunting partner. At Ducks N Bucks, we feel it's important to get younger hunters involved in the outdoors. All hunters under 16 hunt for 1/2 price, when accompanied by a paying adult.

   The 2005-2006 season was another great season for duck hunting on the river, even though warm, dry conditions hampered us throughout the season. Our final duck tally for the year was 563 birds on 27 hunting days, which is an average of almost 21 ducks per day of hunting. (Of this total, 98% were mallards!)
